Easter

Our Easter weekend started out Saturday morning at 9am when my phone rang. It was my dad "Hey are you taking the kids to the Easter egg hunt at the park?" Trying to wake myself up and sound like I had been awake for hours, I responded as perky as I could be "Yeah, what time does it start?" "Ten" was his quick response and panic struck me. Corver was 4 weeks old and I had yet to get the kids ready and out of the house before noon, so how was I going to get them awake, ready, out of the house and to the park in less than an hour! To top it off Grey was playing basketball so was not home to help. "Okay we will see you there" I said and started running around wildly trying to get ready. Luckily Grey came home and believe it or not (well you have to believe it because I have pictures to prove it) we made it to the Easter egg hunt in time and even 10 min early. It was a cold morning and a little rainy, I was wondering... what happened to the warm Easter weekends we used to have as kids? The last few years we have had to bundle up for this event and it seems we have to find warm Easter clothes. Anyway here is a picture from the "hunt" at the park.

This is just half of the 0-3 age group. Another question or two: What happened to the real eggs we hunted as kids? and Who decided to take the Hunt out of Easter egg hunt? Nowadays they just throw the eggs on the grass which just makes those parents, who think there is a worthwhile prize for the kid with the most eggs, even more annoying. If you sit back and watch "those" parents you can almost see what they were like as a kid. Or maybe they were the kid who always had the least amount of eggs because they werent good at hunting for them. Now they think they have to make up for it and do what they can (literally anything goes with them) to make sure their kid hast the most eggs. Who is the event for anyway. Who knows what their reasoning is, anyway... Londyn got quite a few eggs by herself but I think she finally fully woke up when it was all over. She is not a morning person.

Our next event was spending the day with my family. My sister Kinzy and I love baking and we follow this blog of a lady who makes the cutest things called cakepops. We decided to make these cute things for Easter and we literally spent all day trying to perfect them. Well, sorry Kinz but I will admit they did not turn out very cute. I didnt even think to take a picture but I have a feeling we will be practicing them for other occasions. I also helped my sister Rielyn make her Easter skirt. It was a petal skirt and turned out so cute! I had a blast hanging out with my sisters and I will share this one little "girl" moment. At one point the guys were all out golfing and here we were (my mom, sisters and grandma) sewing, baking, laughing and...(drum roll) listening to the new Hannah Montana Movie soundtrack! Yep, you read it right. It was a total girl moment and I loved it!

Easter morning started with sleeping in, well if it counts as sleeping in when you have been up twice during the night. But luckily my unusal two year old sleeps in until at least 9:30 everyday so we did not have to wake up extra early to get Easter ready. We had breakfast with Greys parents and had to hunt for our Easter baskets. Mine was in the oven, Greys was in the laundry room, Londyn's was in the entry cabinet and DJ could not find his. We finally told him it was in the office behind the chair. Thank you Syd and Troy for the wonderful filled baskets. Londyn then had an egg hunt downstairs. Have you noticed I havent mentioned coloring eggs at all. Well that is because at 11pm Saturday night I realized we had not colored eggs so we literally colored eggs. I handed Londyn some markers and had her go at it. Sad I know but what do you do. Anyway here are pictures of the kids baskets.

Londyns: books, soccer ball, wrist fairy, princess desk

Corvers: teething ring, toys, and wrist rattles.

Londyn spent a good part of the morning playing with her new desk.

We then went to church, the couple that spoke did a great job. I love the spirit on Easter. After church we went to my parents for the big family Easter egg hunt with my cousins. The picture above is Grey and Londyn playing the Wii Fit waiting for the adults (we are still considered kids in this family) to hide the eggs. This is a special hunt, every egg has money in it! So the contest is to see who gets to most money in their 21 eggs. I still feel like a little kid while racing, fighting and of course hunting for eggs. My camera died literally seconds before the hunt started so we did not get any pictures. sorry.
We then rushed to Grey's grandparents for Easter dinner. Londyn quickly found the bowl of olives and that is all she ate for dinner. We had a nice dinner and Londyn scored with yet another Easter egg hunt (lets see how many times I can say Easter Egg Hunt in this post). It was an awesome Easter weekend. I look forward to next year.
Well I bet all of you have been anticipating the reveal of Londyns Easter dress. Okay that sentence was totally a dream sentence for my fantasy life when hundreds of people wake up every morning just waiting and wanting to read my exciting, funny, creative blog. Remember I said fantasy not reality. And those hundreds of people check my blog everyday waiting for the next piece of my clothing line to be revealed. Ahh let me just dream for a min...... Okay I am back, back to the blog that no one reads and the clothing line that only a few people have commented on. But that is how I like it for now. Anyway I did get pictures of Londyns and Corver's outfits so as soon as I get those back I will post them. They turned out so cute!
Happy late Easter everyone!
